I don't think Markaba's post was aimed at me, my post shouldn't be taken too seriously anyway.
No, I don't envy the Americans. For the reasons you mentioned, but also the extreme punishments by law, their paranoia about safety and their misplaced feel of superiority about their standard of living.
Cities like Detroit have already degenerated to a level below the average third world country, have a look at this video proud Americans..

Unfortunately the Europeans will follow soon, the first cracks are visible and joining the EU is possibly the worst decision we ever made.
The liberal laws are partly gone, these days we pay for health care and the present system of benefits will be history soon.

So no reason to be proud either.
