But jealous of what exactly, Markie? Because America is the most powerful nation from a military and economic standpoint? These factors hardly benefit the average joe and jane in America, especially when you consider that Sancho probably has a better standard of living than the average person in America, and his government spends far more on services to benefit the average person--such as universal health care--than America does, since the majority of our tax dollars go to fund the Pentagon, thus resulting in a bloated military that does far more imperialistic adventuring across the world than defending our nation's borders. If you say we have more freedom than any other nation in the world, then I remind you of little things like the USA Patriot Act, military tribunals rather than regular criminal trials for anyone simply accused of being a 'terrorist' or an 'enemy combatant,' Gitmo and the detainees there held for an indefinite period of time without due process, perpetual foreign pre-emptive wars that cost us a fortune to fund, and a deeply ingrained arrogance that causes us to justify any type of action against anyone who doesn't hold an American citizenship but cry "major atrocity" when foreigners commit the same type of acts against us.

And don't get me started on the U.S. being the world leader of the sex abuse panic, as well as the major nation in the West that promotes a fundamentalist form of Christianity that you and I both loathe so much.

So if Sancho is jealous, it's only in the sense that a kid on the playground is jealous of the biggest and strongest bully there, along with all his shorter cohorts who feel cool and powerful by proxy due to hanging around him and singing his praises all day.

If we constantly tell people outside of America that they are jealous of anyone who lives in America, then we do nothing but justify their attitudes towards us. A true world leader worthy of the title would lead by example, not by telling everyone that they deserve to be leader.
