Even supposing anti-depressants work

I've always held the belief that people who are depressed are depressed for good reasons. But suppose that there was a Happy Pill® that would absolutely cure depression regardless of cause.

School bully broke out three of your teeth and took your lunch money? Take a Happy Pill® and go back to school smiling almost like nothing happened! Some child told you "I love you" so their parents demanded that they never talk to you again just on the suspicion you might be a pedo? Take a Happy Pill® and you'll feel just like the world isn't full of stupid assholes! Your parents, siblings, and rabbi got caught by the SS and sent off to the gas chambers? Take a Happy Pill® and you'll be whistling a merry tune!! Israeli army bombed your school again and nine of your friends are in a hundred and eighty places? Take a Happy Pill®! It fixes everything wrong with the world, as far as you'll ever know. Take a Happy Pill®! It's Better Than Love®! WAY better than actually trying to fix what's wrong!

To HELL with your pills, assholes, even if they do work, which is questionable. Reality definitely sucks, but it beats delusion.
