I have spent time with a lot of kids and though my relationship with WG is closer than most I don't think my judgement is clouded (I also have multiple outside opinions - adults I know and I have introduced WG to - who concur with me).
My main concern with CPS is that the grandma will deny it, WG won't be willing to talk to someone she doesn't know and it will be just my word to go on. So WG's remains at home and her situation gets worse because she can't escape for 10-15 hours/week with me. If I knew CPS would get her help I would call instantly - regardless of if that meant I would never see her again. I would bet my life that WG is not schizophrenic and I would have no concerns about losing. WG is pushed by her grandma to say that she is schizophrenic, the therapist is pushed by the grandma to see schizophrenia. Everything the grandma tells the therapist is shaded by the grandma's personal biases. |
