That "Progressive" on the issue of pedophilia ought to be the same as it was for homosexuality - that cruel treatment of non-offending pedophiles (including) when they have a romantic attraction to a specific other constitutes hate crime; same grounds as homosexuals are loving people capable of maintaining a responsible and healthy standard of their own behaviour, and human beings capable of interpreting the emotional cues of others and behaving respectfully based on those cues.
