Hi rocinante,
I've made a similar comment in other forums, but will make it here again. There seems to be a view that the only research worth doing with CL/MAPs examines the specifics of adult-minor relationships and contacts and attempts to myth-bust societal presumptions about such contacts. Research focused on other issues is, as you say, dribble and bad science. The point I want to make in response is that there is a great variety of questions to examine about CLs/MAPs, minor-adult contacts being simply one of the areas researchers could examine. Taking the view that there is only one issue to research is a mistake and advocating for a myopic view of the sexuality and psychology of CLs/MAPs is short-sighted and will limit the advances we make in our understanding. So there are a lot of interesting questions to ask and answer. We will likely disagree on the priority of pursing certain questions, but I hope people here will agree that there is a lot of work to do and that valid, objective research aimed to understand the sexuality and psychology of CLs/MAPs is valuable, not dribble and bad science.
