The intent of the law is to protect the child, but the child isn't allowed any influence regarding charges or punishment.

I am sorry for the misleading labels slung around your neck, though obviously I cannot condone what you did. I've peered over the abyss myself though, even getting the soft longing gaze with the confused "But why? I won't tell." The heartache of staying legal didn't exactly feel like I avoided hell. It felt like a sort of death to reject not just my own honest and loving desires, but those of somebody I would never think to disappoint as well. It's not one of those topics I tend to discuss publicly. I hope others know how many of us restrict what we speak about openly, even though unspoken experiences can be driving factors behind what we do speak about.

Also, I've noted this oddity of the western legal system many times. Kids aren't allowed to say that they wanted said act to take place, or that they do not feel like they were abused or emotionally scarred by something. This is especially seen when underage teens try to plead this to anyone who will listen, and they are summarily censored, with the help of professionals with degrees if need be.

On the other hand, you get minors tried as adults when they do something heinous(thanks for giving some history of the word). I've always wondered, if said minor had been convinced to have sexual relations with an adult on or about the same time as the crime the minor committed, would they still be a minor in that case while being tried as an adult in the other case?

We start to see how laws become more about enforcement of rules than protecting individuals. So yeah, I'm sorry some people who aren't villains get portrayed as such. Collateral damage for the system. I am sorry.

MSM are true villains, however. Yeah, much of their day to day crap is just meant to maximize profits, but for the bigger stuff I mentioned above, I tend to think there's something else afoot, and don't even get me started on their sibling Hollywood.

Gives a whole new perspective to Manufacturing Consent. There's some tag teaming and social engineering going on in the land of the free. Hopefully that comes up on the radar in the great white north:)
