Electric cars are just a very temporary fashion.

Nuclear cars running on hydrogen fusion will soon dominate. Their byproduct: water vapor. Their autonomy: inconceivably long by our standards.

And that's without considering the technologies which aliens will give us: levitation using superconducting materials, acoustic energy, usage of the planetary magnetic field. All of which will also revolutionize transportation.
