Yes, I think it's entirely possible. I think people are sometimes on the edge, unsure what to do, and some extra information thinking consequences through a little more can make a difference. It's one thing to have "it's a bad idea" tucked away as a little factoid, and another to review it and really think about why it's a bad idea.

I think it's sending messages like this that generates all of the animosity towards you, not your diverging views.
