School does not mix with the gaming industry...

The fact is most gamedevelopers are hired because of their skills and experience, not what kind of diploma's they have. Though school can help you in teaching you new skills, they won't make you a great artist. Talent is something you are born with...or that's what I believe.

The software really isn't the biggest problem...everyone can learn it with a few months of dedicated time. It's what you DO with the software that counts. (= software is a tool, just like a pencil is...just by knowing how to hold a pencil, doesn't make you a great artist)

I did consider going to a school for this at first, but after reading stories and talking with pro's that work in the industry...I found that making a portfolio without the help of school is a better investment of time and money.

So that's what I'm doing now, making a portfolio :)
