As a father of a girl (now grown up), I can honestly say I was not strongly erotically attracted to her, even when her age coincided with my AoA (5 -10). Maybe this was due to the strength of the incest taboo, coupled with my desire not to cause emotional damage. The most unsettling challenges came about when I realised that sometimes other men were interested in her. Once I realised the signs, my pedo-radar could soon spot a predator. No responsible parent could condone or facilitate molestation of their child, but at the same time I found it difficult to be angry with these men. There were one or two occasions when I felt that their interest might undermine my moral resistance, and I had to block any sympathetic thoughts towards their intentions.
