There's another small thing I wanna add. When you said - "it's the puppy in them, and they seldomn hurt, but just the same, whilst to you and I it's just the dog being affectionate and wanting to play, to a young child it can be frightening, which can then also frighten the dog."
This little bit I found out after while I was talking with the dog's guardian (As a vegan, I try not to use the term "owner" because it makes the animal seem like a piece of property more then a family member - same applies for children too). He told me a story where two young girls were at his house patting the dog when they just started running away fast, he said that was not a good ideal because when most dogs see this they think it's time to play. Well I guess the dog actually bit two children on the butts. No, Don't worry because he said they were fine, and just told them that wasn't really a good ideal. I asked him what happened with the parents (I don't think they were there at the time) but never said. He did, however imply that they knew what happen.
My mom also commented that she shouldn't have been along with the dog either and also made the comment of the old "where were the parents at?" Ok I get that she did came to me by herself and all along, but I mean, it's not like she was completely along because of the people outside. I don't think it's all that bad like my mom is trying to put it. I don't know where her mom and dad were, maybe they were just inside for a bit or outside even but just talking with the other adults. I assume she was playing with the other kids outside, though didn't notice while she came over. Do you think it's as bad as other situations or is my mom just making nonsense out of nothing? (no disrespect to my mom though, as you can think).
Another thing that came to mind from the part where you said - "and it's exactly that sort of thing that will make you a great mentor to children"
There are people out there who have the opinion (such as David Riegel) that GLs cannot be mentors to girls because they can't teach the girl "how to became a women", and such etc. but BLs on the other hand, can teach a boy "about how to become a man" among other things etc. Because he is a male so he can relate, while as GLs cannot. Me and Riegel had a small debate via email while he made the same claims among others too. I don't believe this, and neither does THE Wolf, as he has had many LGFs/LBFs in the past. Can I ask your thoughts about this?
As a vegan, I try to teach children to be kind to all creatures of the world. I was a bit nervous interacting with children in a very public setting, but as THE Wolf had reminded me to just be myself, and that's exactly what I did. And it work out great, hell I even got a GM out of it.
Yes, I believe also that her mom did see it that way. And that's why a "Thank You" was in order.
Thanks again, Tril! Always meant the most coming from you.
