To clarify, my intent here and in my work is to validate the feelings of CL's, MAPs, whatever, and figure out how to give them competent and empathic mental health care for whatever issues they feel necessary, coming from a place of understanding CL experiences. My work does not touch on the validity of intergenerational relationships. As you probably know, as a social worker I am bound to the reporting laws for "child abuse," regardless of my feelings about them.
