All I can say is that what I know from those who tell me their reasons goes against your precious beliefs. But I'll take the word of those whose choices disgust you over the opinion of one who presumes that his personal taste should be normative.

Let's leave the "precious" and "disgust" language out of this. I don't have any precious beliefs and I don't have any disgust towards anyone involved in the sex industry. I am not normally on the side of feminists for many issues but there does appear to be good evidence that pornography does harm adult relationships and tends to warp the views of those who view such material for extended periods or who have porn as their first sexual material. This is coming from research not anecdotal evidence although I would have to be blind indeed if I failed to notice how porn has changed since the Internet arrived. Whoever quoted Sade etc - WTF has that got to do with mass audience availability of adult porn - to kids it seems also - some quoting average age of 11 for first viewning of such material. That is certainly new. No such material existed a few decades ago. If you think anal sex is the norm and see no problems then fine. I don't, and possibly many females don't either since it is more about degrading the female than sexual pleasure.
