Most of your questions seem directed at mental health issues. Everyone (for the most part) has mental health issues to one degree or another, but yet function "normally" in our society. This is the case with us (our community).
Pedophiles are seen as monsters. We are no more monsters than any one else. If you want to find the real monsters, watch TV shows like "Dance Moms" and "Real Housewives of wherever" or any reality shows where people are pitted against each other and encouraged into screaming matches over inconsequential issues. The ones that really need to be studied are the poor souls that watch this.
The bias in your study is that we're sick individuals that are on the verge of suicide and need help (brainwashing) at the soonest possible moment.
