Depends on how old a middle schooler is*, because if she and the boy are rather close in age I won't call him a paed.

*- I'm Dutch and don't know the ins and outs of foreign school systems.

When I was 18 I was deeply in love with a 13 yr old girl, and I think that's *just* a great enough age different to be labelled paed**. (Oh, as far as I know she wasn't in love with me).
