Hah. Knew you'd click. :p

...anyways...

...I was having one of those euphoric-depressive moments, the sort of thing in which you have just enough of an increase in the capacity for happiness that you have the sense to yearn for something more in life, the moments which can teach you so much about yourself, if you only stop to think... t.a.t.u.'s remake of the smiths was going through my head, and I was thinking on, well... love. And loniliness. And a whole bunch of crap, not the least of which was society's profound need for a preteen-inclusive singles bar...

There was a fair going on at the park. Being the fairy that I am, I felt it was my duty to go.

...long story short, I learned over-and-over that the only thing stopping me from making an insane number of preteen hookups in public in my day-to-day life is that I am a rat bastard with no self confidence whatsoever. Over... and over... and over... the briefest glance, and a huge smile on the face of some young girl was immediately quashed by the fact, that, well... I'm a coward.

...this is not the last time this theme has repeated in my life. I'm really going to have to work on that... for some reason, preteen girls aplenty seem to view me as a possible flirtation interest until I chicken out and kill the whole thing. Damn.

...but anyways...

...fast forward a little bit. Fair's over. Everyone's piling out in a cone-shaped line packed like sardines. A girl of about 9 is next to me, and her mother...

...and despite the fact that everyone's packed like sardines, this premature little sex offender decides to move about two or three steps to her left to lean against me. There's no space in the crowd, and yet the only reason the crowd didn't surge forward to pack three or four people in the space between her and her mother is because they didn't want to come between her and her mother.

...so, I'm being groped and molested by a 9yo who has no idea of "what is or is not a sex offense in this society."

...eventually, her mom reaches out and physically drags her the 3 or 4 steps over to her, apparently a little embarrassed and frustrated by her daughter's offending, and we're cut off as the crowd surges forward into the gap - apparently, the bond between a fourth grader and her molestation victim is not as sanctified in this society as the parent-child bond...

...but I was chatting about this with a friend the other day, and the sum thought was - should I have exploited the situation to leave her in a position which offers a little hand-holding? I mean, sure, it would've been easy enough to shift myself to where I'm illegally fondling her with full legal nonculpability just as a byproduct of standing there while she's trying to rub up against me - but honestly, looking back, I'd be more interested in the random coincidence of ending up holding hands with a complete stranger. Granted, sex offending being what it is, it'd have to be done in a way which didn't threaten the "plausible deniability" of this budding little Chester (puns quite intentional, lol)...

...but, here's the question of molestation ettiquete I pose to the board : when being groped by a preteen sex offender - is it polite or impolite to subtly offer your hand?

...I await the reply of the masses...
