Re: laws keep law-abiding people under control

Sadly, kid-swapping probably happens more than you think. Parents with similar ideas get together and baby sit each other's kids to get someone different for a while. It's all very hush hush of course, but it does happen. Or little parties where everyone brings over their kids and plays with someone other than their own child (sometimes only a little illegal, and sometimes a lot). I know from personal experience when I was young. It seemed like these kinds of people kind of hung together or attracted each other somehow. They weren't all bad experiences. Though in the majority of them I didn't want to, either with a particular person or because I just wasn't in the mood.

But the thing is that generally those people didn't care too much whether the kids wanted it or not. The adults did, and the kids "belonged" to the adults, so that was that. That's not child love, that's other things like power trips, or child love over powered by desire. And when it was over, it was practically forgotten until the next event. Like a secret underground world. I'm an adult now and have been out of that for a number of years. I learned a lot about how not to behave and treat people, so in that way at least it had some good side effects.
