You'll probably remember that experience in 10 years time (maybe 50). It's only for an instant but why is it so powerful? Somehow instances like this cut through the onion layers of the mind right to the centre. And we can be shocked, amazed by thinking what was that all about. And, being human, we try to hang on to it, but its all too transitory.

It may be the curve of a neck, the tone of voice, the lowering of an eyelid. And of course it can be found everywhere (people say). A landscape view or painting is said to be beautiful, but our minds are clouded by looking for the beauty so we don't see it. And then suddenly, unexpectedly, maybe in the most unexpected place, there it may be.

I think that some people have experiences like this, see beauty in a young girl or have a slight surge in the loins and will say to themselves 'hmm, I must be a pedo'. Pigeon-holing oneself like this is never useful, it can only limit your vision. Far better to view it as just being part of the wider experience of what is possible.

So, how can you explain this beauty thing? Lord knows, cos I certainly can't.

Beauty is life when life unveils her holy face.
But you are life and you are the veil.
Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror,
But you are eternity and you are the mirror.
