28 is not being wise in this case, because he, like you, has refused to listen to me, and has acted like I didn't address your concerns in a polite way and take them into full consideration to the point of accomodating them. That is a dirty pool tactic, and if you choose to play that way, don't expect me to be respectful in return. Baldur is one of the smartest people on this board also, and he agrees with me. So what does that say? You only listen to the smart and wise person whom you happen to agree with, and pretend the wise and smart person you don't agree with never even said anything? I have listened to 28 and you, and I made it clear in my responses that I will accomodate all of your concerns. I made a very sincere effort to explain, respectfully, why I disagree that using such a term will somehow "hurt" younger people with that attraction base, and why I think it will be useful to galvanize them with a sense of identity that helps them realize they are not alone with those feelings. I also noted that I thought your concerns, and the ones expressed by 28, were reasonable and I fully acknowledged them and urged caution in using those terms. But no, you ignored that, 28 ignored it, and you are now beginning the antagonistic attacks I predicted.
I am speaking as a supporter of kids and their rights, not as "an adult." If they disagree with the term, let them say so en masse. You say "let them choose their own term" because you know that they are not yet well organized enough to be in a position to do so. You are using the "adult" thing against me, when on other occasions you expressed no problem with "adults" making decisions for kids if they felt it was in their best interests. So it is you, as usual, who are the hypocrite, not me.
Again: I understand your concerns, I listened to you, and despite disagreeing with them I have urged caution and prudence in terms of applying the label. I was respectful about it. Now that you have decided to be one of those doing exactly as I predicted, and I can count on you to continue to do it periodically for the next few years, then let it be known that I am not backing off on this just as I didn't back off many years ago on using the terms "hebephile" and "MAA" when essentially the same arguments were used against them, and that was proven wrong in thelong run. Just let it be known who listened to who, and who accomodated the concerns and opinions of the other. Let the battle begin, and you can rest assured I will fight this one as strongly as any other I ever fought against you. Boo-yahh.
