She may have got it wrong about what children are really like with regards to masturbation but do you think that is the sole issue? Many children will not realise what is normal or abnormal in most families.

I have discussed all the details with my therapist and we both think I was sexually abused as an infant and perhaps later on, until I was strong enough to defend myself (I remember clearly fighting for my life, fighting for survival, screaming, kicking him with my feet because he used to pin my hands to the bed).

I do realise that we can interpret things much more differently as children than when older and the things described in this post are often seen in others where there is no substantial evidence of abuse.
