Yes. I was not sure if it were the same as trainspotting but I googled. Yes, the same. I just prefer to call it train watching. It amazes me how popular a hobby it is. And there are different levels. Some guys know way too much about trains! As for myself, it just makes for a relaxing evening.
There are even livestreams of train stations. I watch them whenever I have time. And I have found it is a very nice community. No drama. Everyone is so cool. I was not ready for that. My other hobbies always have the argumentative dudes. (Ever been to a comic book convention? There is nothing like seeing a grown man in a Joker t-shirt that says "why so serious?" get hostile because someone suggests the Hulk can beat up Superman. And don't get me started on the guitar geeks!) You don't see crap like this with the train fandom. |
