I didn't think the 12 year old was very cute, but she was really cool and she had a very nice body. Of course, I had to avoid talking to her as much as possible because I didn't want her parents to know or suspect that I was a hebephile, and I have not yet come out to this new friend of mine

Not about toddlers, but about avoiding the 12 year old. Unless you do something obviously creepy, no one's going to suspect you. And even if they did, they'd think you were a pedophile. You could have told everyone at that dinner that you were a ephebophile and they wouldn't have known what you were talking about, unless you gave them a truthful explanation if they even bothered coming out with a followup question. You really shouldn't be so apprehensive about interacting with girls ;).
