There's no solid evidence that Mary even existed,

And so damn what??????

You are saying that because Dolores Haze didn't exist, we cannot discuss whether Lolita was 12. (In contrast, probably, with Alice Liddell having existed, so we are properly able to discuss Alice's age when she was In Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass?)

How you cannot understand that these are two different planes of discussion, both valid, but never overlapping, is beyond me.

But if you are interested in clicking, this subject has been approached already. I will leave the Bible thumping to the professionals:

In the first of these threads someone said exactly the same you said…

I keep seeing this claim repeated, again and again, but never with any source. I will admit to not having read the whole of the New Testament, but I'm sure I've read all the early bits, about Jesus being born and all that, and I don't recall reading anything about Mary's age.

Where does the claim that she was 12 come from?

Of course you can deny her existence. But the age of the literary character Maryam is not in doubt.
