Most 12-13 year old girls are fertile. No conflict between you two.

Being fertile is not the same thing as being fully mature.

The only overwhelming evidence that late breeding is a luxury is that the average age of first child (for BOTH genders) rises steeply with income. The less that children are a source of income and more they are a source of expense, the more you delay them; family units are not THAT stupid.

You haven't spent a lot of time around poor people, have you?

The USA is the only partial exception in the whole of human history.

I sincerely doubt that. I know you take delight in singling out the U.S. as everything that is wrong with the world, but that is simply your delusion.

As for modern medicine not applying, everyone agrees that humans are "anatomically and genetically modern" at least for the last 40 thousand years, and most think even earlier. So modern medicine very much applies.

Changes in anatomy have little to do with it, but in fact kids are overwhelmingly healthier than they used to be (due to modern advances which makes food cheap and easily available), and so modern adolescents mature sooner than they used to. Which means they are much likelier to bring healthy babies to term than adolescents in the past would've been, and with fewer risks to themselves. Furthermore, pregnant women prior to the 20th century were at a higher risk of complications and death from diseases like smallpox, and from things like ectopic pregnancies. The women who had the longest lives of all before the 20th century were nuns. Wanna hazard a guess as to why that was? ⚠️ ↗
