No one has to read the thread. I personally agree with Baklur, and he just wants to vent. HOWEVER, Baklur, if you "read between the lines", even though Roberts voted with the liberals, he also took the opportunity to set some very clear lines, actually reigning in some Federal abuse of power. It was still a wrong vote, but read his statement.

Sorry if this thread irritates non-Americans. But America and its allies have for decades now fought against the tides of Socialism. Unfortunately, we are too stupid in this country (speaking generally) to see what our politicians are. We voted this embarrassment of a President into office because he is (at least halfway) black. He lies through his teeth, keeps no promises to anyone (even those whose side he claims to be on), and is absolutely a Socialist.

As far as it relates to GL'r's, while the Liberals speak out one side of their mouth about freedom and acceptance, they turn around and increase the size and intrusiveness of government into ALL aspects of our lives. Yeah, the conservatives may not seem very accepting of alternate lifestyles, but it the big government Liberals that "we" need to fear. They want control control control. Politics, international and national, should be of interest to all of us in this forum.
