And why the majority of us agree to establishing respectful dialogue with the Non-MAP majority, and why many of us believe the slight incremental (yes, incremental!) bit of growing tolerance we are now seeing is due to the fact that Non-MAPs can also be reasonable and will not simply demand endless "all or nothing" capitulation (e.g., they will allow us to the table regardless of our views, only judging us now by our actions and behavior). As I said elsewhere in this thread, Markie, most of the pro-choicers here understand and accept the notion of compromise quite well... it's when the line is crossed into compromising civil rights principles and our dignity as human beings of worth, and of youths as having a right to the same things, that most of us draw the line. Big difference there, pal. |
