News being a theme lately, it seems the state of California wants to pass a bill to compel the Catholic church to give up its promise of secrecy in "confession" (where followers go to tell all their sins anonymously to a priest who then, I guess, uses some holy math to tell them how many prayers to say to be forgiven). They want this power over the church for pedophilia related admissions, which will then also naturally grow to include any and all pet feminist issues, admissions of harming the environment, etc. etc..

I didn't want to bother going into the whole freedom of religion thing and how stupid people must be to think any "holy person" would give up the rules of their religion in order to follow rules of the state, because that seems kinda obvious to anyone with a grasp of history and living in reality.

No, I just thought it was interesting in how it mirrors the same rules already thrust upon psych and mental health professionals, who are already forced to report such things to authorities, as are researchers.

Leave it to a place who's state symbol has become a turd lying on a public sidewalk with flies all over it, to think this could have any legit legal possibility beyond showboating. Unbelievable.
