My views have changed over time; based on research and based on others whose real experiences were not mine.

Opinions are interesting, and everyone is entitled to one. But its the outside information, facts and research which are of more interest to me.

If you've simply been discussing your position, rather than discussing the phenomena you hold your position on, then I can see why you think the convo is pointless.

However, I would ask that you should view with skepticism any claim depending on unmerited exceptionalism.

To treat sexuality as if it weren't a human activity, to treat children as if they weren't persons, or to treat this brief period of culture and history as if its values were the only true ones; required far too much mental gymnastics.

You may find, when you have more familiarity with the phenomena being discussed, that you have more to offer than just your position. And, like all open-minded people, you may find your position changing to reflect the information you now have.
