OK, I'll answer from my particular perspective and I hope we can keep any referencing of material from the topic.

Why do you think this is incongruous with a child's normal life?

From what I see every day in children, how they behave towards each other and towards adults and from virtually everything I have seen regarding pre-pubertal children. I know the possibility exists for some children to be involved sexually with adults but it might be difficult to disentangle the relationships so as to find the truth. In general I think that much of the child's sexual experiences comes from either exploration and sex-play or from differential maturity or development and although often it will not be harmful it often is when older children induce those younger into sexual activities that problems occur, particularly when they do not have the necessary frameworks in place to understand the situation and perhaps the ability to decline such involvement. I think the power and knowledge differential is even greater with adults and so there are many more dangers. How are we to determine if someone has an entirely welfare position, although sexual, towards children or if they simply desire to treat them as sexual objects.

What is a normal childhood and why do you consider it normal?

Not sure here as I can only recall the one I had but in my mind an abnormal one is one that sticks out such as those who are sexually abused by siblings or adolescents or even adults. To me that is what is abnormal. I was aware of a few cases of that in my childhood.

What is the real cause of problems derived from sexual contact: the sexual contact itself, or societal condemnation of the same?

As I mentioned I think it is mainly the sexual contact itself although I will admit that the effects of societal condemnation will probably have a marked affect on many.

Why do you presume that children would never be interested in pursuing their sexuality with adults if it were not for such societal condemnation?

I don't presume they would not since I believe that children often do try to initiate such contact but it is not in their interest that an adult acquiesces. The child is mainly in no position to know the full consequences of their actions and like many other areas adults have a position of responsibility of care towards them which includes not initiating actions that might result in harm at some later stage. Children are always trying to push boundaries - that is in their nature as they mature but it for their welfare that we control these desires appropriately without simply giving in and seeing it as "what they wanted."
