Call for participants for an online survey

Posted by ianvmcphail on Tuesday, July 17 2018 at 4:16:45PM

Hi everyone,

My name is Ian McPhail. I'm a researcher and a doctoral student studying clinical psychology in Canada. My colleague, Dr. Skye Stephens, and I are conducting research looking at a number of issues relevant to MAPs. The survey link is at the bottom of this message. The first page of the survey is an informed consent form, which has more detailed information about the survey itself.

Apologies for the cross-posting, as we have posted this survey to other forums.

I will be checking in on this thread periodically, hopefully a few times a week, so I can respond to any comments and questions people may have. Alternatively, if you want to contact us, feel free email me at ian.mcphail@usask.ca. Please be patient in case I am a bit slow responding, it’s summer and I may be off enjoying a vacation or two.

I hope this research is of interest and the findings are of value to the MAP community. If anyone wishes, please feel free to post this survey link on other MAP forums that you are involved with. Thanks to Baldur for giving us permission to post our research on Girl Chat.

******PLEASE NOTE*******
The survey is hosted by Qualtrics. For those of you using Tor, the survey site will load successfully in the “Safer” security setting in Tor, but not the “Safest” security setting. The reason for this is that Qualtrics uses JavaScript, a feature that cannot be disabled, unfortunately. I have tested the Qualtrics website at the link below and using Tor in the Safer security setting is enough to successfully mask your IP address. In addition, our Qualtrics survey is set to NOT collect IP addresses, so any data you provide will not be associated with an IP address. We realize that this may not be enough of a guarantee for some people and I wanted to draw people’s attention to it so that you can make a more informed decision before clicking on the below link. For future research, we will be considering how to create surveys in such a way to offer people the highest level of anonymity and security that we can.
